On the Road! Part-1

From pondering to wondering, paper to pens, plans to success, we finally made our 'trip'! Pondicherry, 2007. I hoped and prayed for it to happen.

When I first made a draft, in my mind, I had a vague picture of fun and frolic. The trip personified that picture. 3 nights and 4 days of pure bliss, and well, for one of us, kiss!

We started at about 7 from each of our places and got together at the city bus stop. Snarls and gnarls accompanied our every move. On reaching the apparent Platform, we found that our bus was missing, no one knew its whereabouts. Not knowing what else to do, we awaited the bus. 30 minutes later arrived a huge white vehicle- 'Airavata'. As the name suggests, the bus journey indeed felt like an eternal ride on the back of an elephant! Except, the bus was more comfortable. The road to Pondy was not too great, not many sights of glory or beauty. Yet, the company we shared was incredible- Tamil movies!

After what seemed like days, we arrived at the Pondy bus station. Uncle Something (I forget his name!), told us he'd be waiting at this hotel called Mars. Lugging our not-so-heavy yet bulky baggages, we found our way to Mars. The sight that befelled us was nothing short of a marvel! We saw a Corolla approach us, and, we had our very own chauffeur (minus the white uniform and cap)!! Uncle Something conversed with us in Tamil, and the only tamil speaker amongst us was Joe. Well, Krit spoke better tamil I think!

Having adjusted in the car (4 of us at the back, Uncle Something came with us till the Hotel) and a journey of less than 20 minutes, we arrived at our 'hotel'. I think it was painted green from the outside, and it was named 'Janakiraman Inn' (we thought it was called John-gi-ram --> pun intended <-- I imagined a flamboyant picture of John Abraham waving out to us). The reception area was so good- it ended where it began! Well anyway, Uncle Something (Uncle.S hereon) introduced us to the receptionist and the ward boys and showed us our room. Now now now, hold your breath! The room was flamboyant! There weren't any John Abraham posters, but the room was indeed good. We had two rooms, adjoined by a common door, to ourselves! We jumped with joy! We were given about an hours time to freshen up and meet Uncle.S at his shop (he owned a supermarket/grocery store).
